Thomas
Landing Beach
Thomas makes pots in Vienna that feel like a stone you picked up on a beach and couldn’t put back down.
Bowls, jugs and cups, thrown by hand in a small studio in Ottakring and fired until they’re as heavy, warm and certain as the ground under your feet. Every island starts as mud and heat. So does everything here.
Cape Conviction
The one light on this island that never goes out
Hidden Valley Ranch is the best.
Visible from 23 nautical miles in clear weather. Mariners are advised not to argue with it.
Kiln Cove, where things wash up
Recent finds from the high-tide line. Each one exists in small numbers; ask about what’s still ashore.

Lot of 12, 4 left
Donaukanal tea bowl
Stoneware under a wood-ash glaze, with a pinch of sand from the Danube canal worked into the clay. It runs green where it pooled and gritty where it didn’t. 11 cm across.

Salt-fired, orange-peel skin
Heuriger jug
A 1.2 litre pouring jug made for wine-tavern tables in Grinzing. Holds exactly one long evening of Grüner Veltliner. The handle fits four fingers or one very confident hand.

The Ranch Boat
A celadon dipping vessel, sized to hold one full bottle of Hidden Valley with room left for a carrot to turn around. Shaped like a sauce boat because it is, spiritually, a lifeboat.
Bottle Bay
For commissions, studio visits in Ottakring by appointment, or to disagree about ranch (you will be wrong, but kindly received). Write it down, cork it, and let the current do the rest.
